Queenstown Pano

New Zealand, and in particular Queenstown, is my favourite place in the world. Every time i have been there so far, its been summer, and i leave absolutely exhausted, but am so pumped with adrenaline i never want to leave. And that’s even without the amount of stuff i have planned for it!

It’ll be sick to see it in Winter. And do snow again!

The focus for Queenstown is to start the tour with a bang. Straight in and no letting up for 5 days! But the best thing about Queenstown is its the only real winter stop on the trip. Peak snow season allows me to cover off on winter adrenaline before 6 weeks of Northern Hemisphere summer adrenaline highs.

Bungy will obviously be covered off, heading straight to meet up wth the team at AJ Hackett HQ in Queenstown straight from the airport, and then off to either the Nevis Bungy, Kawarau Bridge, and Ledge but that’s just going to be the warm up. Sticking with AJ Hackett, while in Queenstown i also want to complete:

Nevis Swing – Highest Swing in the world

Ledge swing – 400m over Queenstown

Night Ledge Bungy – Only available in Winter….. EPIC!

In addition to this, snowboarding is without a doubt on the menu. This will the first time i have snowboarded, or even done any snow activities. The first time i had been to the snow was in Whistler, Canada in 2015. To snowboard for the first time in the adventure capital of the world is going to be sick! Exactly how the snowboarding is going to work, i need to figure out. Whether it’s The Remarkables or else where, i am not sure. But i gotta figure out how to do it first….

Looking at hiring gear for 3 days. The first day, i’m expecting to spend half of it on my arse! By day three i’m hoping i can at least get down some decent runs, for the whole day. Here’s hoping!

The choices of activities is almost unlimited. But at the moment the ones i am thinking of are:

Helicopter something – Heli – boarding? Heli snowmobile? Heli transfers to Nevis? Heli sightseeing flight?

Milford Sound – This area looks absolutely amazing. Heli flights maybe?

Shotover Canyon Swing – This thing looks insane!

Gondola – Definitely need to head back up the gondola and get into the luge (if its open). Last time the luge and i met, it didn’t end well for me, but definitely keen to head back up and give it another go.

Queenstown Gondola

And without a doubt, Fergburger is on the menu! At least once a day! These are seriously some of the best burgers in the world, and worth a trip to Queenstown on their own!

Whatever i end up doing in Queenstown, it’s going to be E.P.I.C!

Then it’s off to Auckland for a day for the Auckland bridge bungy then a day in Auckland City, before heading off to London. A very different stop to Queenstown, I may look at doing the skywalk at Skytower, but overall, Auckland will be a bit of downtime after a massive few days in Queenstown.

New Zealand is going to be an epically huge start to the trip with not much let up for the first few days.

Do you have any other ideas for New Zealand?
